Like the person in the chair above, internet communications allow many of us to explore new worlds of opportunities, ideas, and friends. To discover just how easy it is to get connected and meet people over the internet simply follow the steps below. A few months ago a visitor to my pages suggested I check out a couple of web sites. I did and the result is a very handy set of programs and services that allow me, and you, to connect with just about anyone anywhere on the internet. I can chat in a private room of my own making, talk online, even send and receive a video picture. It's a lot of fun having friends all over the world, and it's so easy!

Download Netmeeting From Tucows!

Click below to download Net Meeting from Microsoft. It's also FREE. You'll be downloading from Tucows, a wonderful source of both free software and shareware. Net Meeting allows you to do both internet phone calling and video conferencing. You must have a video capture card, video camera, and a sound card that supports speakers and a microphone to send the telephone and video sigils. If you don't have the video setup, you can still use Net Meeting to talk live with others from all over using the internet.

Once you download and set up Net Meeting, you'll be able to talk via the internet with anyone else who has Net Meeting. Or, you can do what I do and use it to talk with special friends from all over. And if I can do it...you can too! I usually send a chat request to someone, make the connection, then go to Net Meeting to talk. And using ICQ to do all the hard stuff for me means I get connected with a simple click. It's easy and fun!

Download & Install HoneyQ

HoneyQ is also an online telephone/video conferencing program. It's shareware but costs very little. I use it sometimes because it's the only one I've found so far that will work with my video capture setup. Net Meeting will work with most, but not mine unfortunately, so I use HoneyQ to make internet phone calls if I also want to transmit and receive video images. Again, in order to do video conferencing you must have a video capture card or software in your computer. That allows you to send a video image via the internet. You also need a video camera to point at your beautiful face! However, if you don't have a video camera and capture card, you can still hear and see those who do!
