I've corresponded with many wonderful people from all over the world and the two most frequent topics people write about are penpals and networking. All of us need someone we can talk with; someone who really understands what we feel and why, the problems we face, and the importance of just being able to have someone listen. It's also important to have a broad base of knowledge and a good source of practical solutions to common problems, particularly if you're disabled or if you're the parent of a disabled person.

So, after many, many requests here's an opportunity to get in touch with others who want to share themselves and their experience. This is a rather informal page and the information listed for the people below is not in any particular format; nor is it intended to be as complete as some might want. But then, isn't mutual exploration part of the fun of corresponding? A couple of things to keep in mine, though. First, most of the people listed either have CP or are parents of a child with CP. Also, those who have indicated a need for more information on raising a disabled child or solving a particular problem are probably looking for more than simply writing back and forth. Please be considerate of that.

If you want to write to someone listed simply send them an email. It might be a good idea to also let them know how you got their email address! If you would like to be listed on this page, whether you just want some penpals or are looking for some answers, simply email me and list the subject as "email penpal page." As soon as I can, you'll be added. In your request you should list, at a minimum, your first name, your age if less than 18, and any other information you think appropriate, particularly if you have a special area or topic you wish to talk about.

I love penpals and through the mail I have been doing it as a hobby for over 5 years now. I cherish my mail friends. Then I saw this website and thought I would try finding a mom similar to me to write too. I do have one other penpal with a son who has c.p. She cannot write real often, but it is fun to correspond with someone who "gets" it.
Am I the only one who gets the ------ "OH-- he looks like he is about to fall asleep comment?" There are large parts of c.p. that some people do not understand. ha The handicap is not the handicap , to me , it is the  attitudes that handicap.
I will answer emails and a couple letter pals if anyone is interested in writing.
Kimberly

care and research conducted in general, right? If so,

Sophia   --> (Website Link)

Hi, My name is Sophia. My friends and I were looking thru pen pal sites, guestbooks, and webrings looking for pen pals when we saw your address. Do you have time for a pen pal? I hope so. I am new at being a pen pal, but I am experienced at being a good friend, so maybe we can have an e-mail friendship? I think it will be interesting and exciting, but if you decide not to respond to my letter I promise I won't bother you again.

I will tell you a little about myself. I used to live in Italy. My parents moved from America to Italy when I was about 10 years old. I speak Italian very well since I’ve lived there so long. We were in Italy for seven years, so I guess I am as much Italian as American. A couple of years ago we moved back to the states. I am 19 years old now.

I like to get together with my friends and just do whatever comes up that day. We never plan things in advance. I like funny movies, and I like to go to the beach. There is one nearby my house! I like going dancing, and I love playing around with my Irish Setter. His name is Max.
He’s the best dog in the world! I also like to read romantic or mystery stories.

I look Italian, maybe because I was in Italy a long time. J I am tall, dark brown hair, slim figure, and bright brown eyes. I look a little like the model Cindy Crawford. At least that’s what friends say! You can see my photos and read more about me at my web site. Just click the link below.

Hopefully you will decide to write me. If so, please contact me from my web site, because this e-mail address is too busy with other things, and I don’t want to miss hearing from you.  It will be nice to have you as a new friend.

The problem is that he could not learn to write and read, although maybe if he stars to get mails from other people he is going tobe incentive, or maybe talk in the phone. He is smart but his disability makes him to walk with a walker he hates when the people keep on looking at him. He likes to talk and he has an amazing memory, likes music, to wacht wrestling. But he needs to be motivated.
