Kimberly - Hi. I am
a 38 year old mom to a 9 year old son with c.p. He
is our fourth child and our baby as well. He is also
a great inspiration. He has kind of mixed tone-
spasticity and low- and he has quadraparesis. He is
Just into his first power wheel chair and we are
still in the learning stages with it. Majorly. haha
I love
penpals and through the mail I have been doing it as
a hobby for over 5 years now. I cherish my mail
friends. Then I saw this website and thought I would
try finding a mom similar to me to write too. I do
have one other penpal with a son who has c.p. She
cannot write real often, but it is fun to correspond
with someone who "gets" it.
Am I the
only one who gets the ------ "OH-- he looks like he
is about to fall asleep comment?" There are large
parts of c.p. that some people do not understand. ha
The handicap is not the handicap , to me , it is the
attitudes that handicap.
I will
answer emails and a couple letter pals if anyone is
interested in writing.

- I am a 28-yr-old female living
with a minor case of
cerebral palsy in Iowa. There are no
good resources for a person in my
situation. Since i have a mild case
of CP, my troubles with it are often
overlooked. I am
frustrated by the lack of
information available
regarding adults with CP. All i keep
finding are
attorneys for parents of children
with CP. Come on,
there are other people who just want
better medical
care and research conducted in
general, right? If so,
please go ahead and contact me.

think our priiorities are to get him
